Why Calgary

Calgary sits in the sunny eastern foothills of Canada’s Rocky Mountains, where the Bow and Elbow rivers meet. It is the major urban centre for the entire southern half of Alberta. The Calgary Region is home to approximately 1.4 million people in over 30 urban and rural communities. Calgary is home to more than 240 different ethnic origins and is ranked third in proportion of visible minorities in Canada.

In 2019, Calgary ranked the most livable city in North America and the 5th most livable city in the world by the Economist Intelligence Unit. It is a city with rich landscape, easy access to nature and profound beauty, and diverse communities. Calgary is ranked among the world’s cleanest, healthiest, and safest cities in numerous international studies, and is a global leader for overall quality of life.

While it can be known for mild temperatures, the sun shines an average of 2300 hours every year, making Calgary the sunniest major city in the country. Calgarians are family-focused, recreation lovers, that are committed to a healthy work-life balance. Calgary is less than one hour from the beautiful Rocky Mountains, where endless opportunities exist.
